Each holiday season, TCWN gathers to recognize a local non-profit organization for the holiday season. Join us this year as we collect donations for Sierra Senior Providers at our 2023 Holiday Giving Luncheon! After a heartwarming presentation, we will enjoy lunch together, as well as our annual Homemade Gift Swap!

Sierra Senior Providers play a key role for seniors of Tuolumne County by providing essential services that promote independence, enhance quality of life, and assist the elderly to remain in their homes. Jackie Lindsey, is a devoted Imaging Nurse Navigator at Adventist Health Sonora. She has enriched her community with over 24 year of compassionate service. A native of Sonora, Jackie began her healthcare journey as a Certified Nurse's Assistant, evolving through roles in long-term care, MedSurg, and the ICU after earning her nursing degree in 2009. Recognized by the National Consortium of Breast Centers, Jackie's role is pivotal in providing solace and understanding to breast imaging patients, guiding them from initial recalls to eventual diagnoses. She collaborates closely with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care, focusing on alleviating the overwhelming nature of medical journeys with kindness, education, and support. Jackie's deep-rooted desire to care for others stems from her childhood experiences and intrinsic need to nurture. Her approach is characterized by a tender yet honest interaction, aiming to answer every concern and ease every fear, reflecting her lifelong commitment to fostering humane and empathetic healthcare experiences. Jackie received the Fall 2023 "Angel Award" this year. It is a quarterly award given out by the chaplaincy team recognizing those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.

Deborah Hart and her husband, George moved from Redwood City to Sonora and opened Dusty’s Den in 1997. They wanted to create a different type of pet supply store for Tuolumne County. Self-grooming tubs were definitely a new concept for this area. Their shop specialized in premium dog and cat foods and all the necessities for a happy, healthy pet. Customers could count on finding different supplements and holistic alternatives to support the health of their animals. After twenty five years of running and loving their shop, they made the decision to sell Dusty’s Den and “graduate from work”. Deborah will share her story of getting to this critical point in her life. Are her ducks all in a row?

Laura Sunday has a passion for life and building safer communities. She has over 40 years of experience in designing and delivering training. Sunday has tutored special needs children and facilitated the Children’s Program at the Center For A Non Violent Community’s (CNVC) emergency shelter for children who have been exposed to violence and trauma. She served as the co-Executive Director of CNVC and coordinated Tuolumne County’s domestic violence, sexual assault and bullying prevention programs, working with pre-school aged children to adults to uncover the roots of violence and shift social norms. Ms. Sunday’s focus has been on creating inclusive violence-free schools and communities by fostering authentic youth engagement and leadership development by providing media tools, support and training to youth, educators and social service providers. Ms. Sunday consults for the California Department of Public Health and the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence’s statewide strategic plan committees.
Laura Sunday is CEO of Rizing Force Consulting…HOPE included, which provides community members and boards with tools to strategize for the future, interact in peaceful ways, resolving conflicts and investing in the next generation of leaders. Ms. Sunday is passionate about people discovering their strengths and following their dreams and promoting unity in the community. Sunday’s new role with The Blue Zones Project, Tuolumne County is a dream come true. She is excited to be part of a team that is all about health, well-being, finding your purpose and living your dream. For fun, she goes on adventures in nature with her husband Scott and golden retrievers, Kimba and Angus.

The Jamestown Family Resource Center is dedicated to increasing the chances of school success for students enrolled at Jamestown School and improving the lives of their families and other community members. JFRC works with families, school staff and community agencies to identify and serve children and families at risk due to economic hardship, abuse, neglect, school failure, substance abuse and other potential barriers to a healthy life. The center offers a number of programs and services including: service referrals for homeless families; emergency food and clothing, school supplies; resource referrals and connections, and other health referrals and classes focusing on topics such as nutrition, parenting, health, ESL and basic life skills.

Dore Bietz,
Office of Emergency Services Coordinator for Tuolumne County

Dore Bietz (Northern and Southern Me-Wuk) resides on the Tuolumne Rancheria in Central
California. After receiving a degree in Landscape Architecture and a minor in public
administration, Dore has worked for many federally recognized tribal governments specializing
in realty, land use, environmental and natural resources protection for 25 years.
As an enrolled member of the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians, Dore understands the
complexities of local, state, tribal and federal governments, and the need to foster better
communication between partners and various agencies. Dore currently works as the Office of
Emergency Services Coordinator for Tuolumne County where she is involved in not only
emergency preparedness, coordination of county emergency services and is staff to the Board
of Supervisors Fire Safety Advisory Community, Natural Resources Committee and Water Policy
Committee working on a variety of issues to make Tuolumne County safer and resilient.
In her role, Dore is the first ever full time OES Coordinator for Tuolumne County and her responsibilities include:
• Plans, organizes and coordinates the County emergency management program before, during or after an emergency.
• Responsibility to administer and direct day-to-day activities of the County's Office of Emergency Services in accordance with County policy and procedures.
• Responsible for the preparation of an Emergency Operations Plan, detailing mitigation; planning/preparedness; response; and recovery processes.
• Serves as Chair of the Operational Area Committee Chair when the Director of Emergency Services is absent.
Dore is excited about her role and the opportunity to coordinate with all the groups within Tuolumne County to better enhance public protective actions, and promote domestic preparedness through a comprehensive and effective emergency services program that will mitigate against, prepare for, respond appropriately to, and quickly recover from natural, technological, and terrorist related emergencies that may impact the residents of Tuolumne County.
$30 per person includes entree, dessert, water/iced/lemonade, tax and gratuity. No-Host bar.
